The Layl Edition is the darkest and most tactile piece in 
the Al Aseel collection. Matte black velvet carries bold 
raised cream arabesque scrollwork in high relief — sweeping 
acanthus leaves and flame motifs that you can feel beneath 
your fingertips as much as see with your eyes. The three-
dimensional texture gives this mat a presence unlike 
anything else in the collection.

At the centre, a silver-outlined mihrab arch rises with a 
fine diamond grid prayer field inside, crowned by an ornate 
arabesque canopy with delicate floral detail. Small cross 
medallions mark each upper corner. A thin gold geometric 
border band frames the whole composition. Black fringe at 
top and base disappears into the field — the whole piece 
reads as one seamless, intentional dark canvas.
